Network Solution Porfolio
We have described several of the network solutions we have implemented below.
Virtual Private Network - "A"
Customer Profile: Non-profit business with multiple locations and 150 users.
Problem: The customer wanted to network the users at their corporate office together with the users at each of their remote offices in an effort to share resources and increase the level of communication between employees. They were concerned that they would be unable to afford the personnel required to maintain a reliable environment.
Solution: Implement a Thin Client environment using Microsoft Windows Terminal Servers and Microsoft Exchange Server. Rely on Datility Networks for hosting and server management. Connect each of the locations to servers located at Datility Networks via Internet-based VPN. For reliability reasons, corporate office connected to servers located at Datility Networks via T1.
Result: This solution is considered an ongoing success. All of the customer locations have been connected to their central servers and all users have access to centralized email and corporate applications. Datility Networks manages their servers and performs regular maintenance for them. Thanks to their Terminal Server cluster, they have not experienced a single extended outage during business hours since this solution was implemented in June 2001 and they have experienced less than half a dozen brief outages over this period. They maintain a single inhouse staff person who is responsible for end user administration.
Virtual Private Network - "B"
Customer Profile: Retail Sales business with multiple locations and 10 users.
Problem: Customer needed to connect remote sales office and warehouse to sales application at main office.
Solution: Implement a Thin Client environment using Microsoft Windows Terminal Services. Connect remote sales office and warehouse to main office using Internet-based VPN.
Result: Solution was considered a success. Remote sales office and remote warehouse can access sales application at main office. Offices are able to check inventory levels in realtime because Warehouse maintains inventory via sales application.
