If you are operating or managing your own server(s) in-house, you are aware that there is a balance between cost of ownership and the performance and reliability you will receive. For example, it is often cost prohibitive to establish the fast, reliable Internet connectivity your server(s) may require unless you are a large company with many systems.

If you locate your server on the high speed network at our facility, you can experience high performance and reliable connectivity to the Internet at a very low cost compared to similar inhouse operation. We also keep a close eye on network security and alert you whenever we notice suspicious activity. Your server(s) are stored in a climate controlled environment along with hundreds of other systems. Our electric generators are used to provide power to these systems in the event of a power outage.

Managed Firewall - Shared

Our network is protected and segmented by a series of firewalls. No more than a few dozen hosts are located behind your nearest firewall. Choose this option if you would like to benefit from the protection of a managed firewall at a reduced cost. While this option is not as secure as having your own dedicated firewall, it provides sufficent security for most of our customers. We will work with you to determine and implement an adequate firewall configuration.

Managed Firewall - Dedicated

This option can be used to provide protection for one or more of your servers. Benefits include the ability to maintain your own rulesets, to VPN into the Firewall and more. We will work with you to determine and implement an adequate initial firewall configuration for each server.

Tape Rotation - Daily

Daily tape rotation. Weekly offsite tape rotation. You must schedule and confirm backup jobs. Does not include backup verification or media fees.

Will I be able to access my equipment?

Of course! While some customers send us their systems and have us perform all management and maintenance, others prefer to manage and maintain their systems themselves. This is perfectly fine. You simply call to schedule a time to perform maintenance (day or night).

Will others be able to access my equipment?

Other customers will not have physical access to your equipment. Only designated staff has access to the equipment areas.

If I have three Cobalt Raq servers, do I qualify for a single 3U rack space rate?

No. Each server would qualify for the 1U rate. You would pay the 1U rate three separate times.

If I have two systems, do I need to pay the minimum bandwidth rate twice?

No. You may share your bandwidth quota among multiple servers.

Do Network Backups count towards my monthly bandwidth quota?

If you purchase a network backup service from us, the traffic generated by these backups is carried across a separate network and does not count towards your monthly bandwidth quota. However, if you perform remote backups of your system(s) over the Internet, the traffic generated by these remote backups is carried across the same network as all your other traffic and DOES count towards your monthly bandwidth quota.

You have three servers, each requiring 3U of rack space and 30GB of bandwidth. You would be charged the 3U rate for each server but you would NOT be charged the 50GB bandwidth rate for each server. Instead, you would be charged the 100GB bandwidth rate once for all three servers. The Rack Space fee would be $ 255 ( $85 x 3) and the Bandwidth fee would be $ 175 ( $175 x 1). Your total monthly fee would be $430 USD ($255 + $175).
